A tragedy behind a magical lyric

In 1965 was founded one of the biggest English rock band, Pink Floyd.  But do people know the deepest secrets of the band behind one of its most popular albums?

The new documentary by John Edginton about Pink Floyd, entitled “Wish you were here”, tells face to face the real sensations that artists felt in 1975, at the production of the album of the same name.

The documentary started at the Live 8 concert when the band performed after 24 years of being separated. Later, it turns to the delightful David Gilmour’s studio on a houseboat, where special details begin to come out. Roger Waters tells what was his influence to made this album, along with Nick Mason, and some footages from an interview to Richard Wright in 2001.

The story around every single at this album makes you connect feelings with the gang, the psychological hard time that they were passing through.

A very hard beginning when Nick Kent, a rock critic, made a negative view of the single “Shine on you crazy diamond”, the first song of the album.

Furthermore, the statements from another people involved in this masterpiece teleport you at the time were this masterpiece was built step by step, with the views of  Brian Humphries, sound engineer; Storm Thorgerson, graphic designer, and some other collaborators  in the production.

Although the documentary shows to be focused in the story of the album, you can feel that the main idea behind of these fabulous tales was the big influence of Syd Barret to the band, due to his depressing way of life.

The purpose of Edginton is to show the tragedy behind the magical music. The album represent the sadness and the desire of each member to see their former leader back with them, sharing those special moments at the 70s, simply representing with the sentence “Wish you were here”.

Even though Pink Floyd is 47 year of being founded and has performed a psychedelic rock through its story, still can touch your heart and make you feel Goosebumps with its secrets behind its outstanding music.

Any Nazism in football?

Have you ever thought a possible connection between football and Nazism? Well, you will might to start thinking about it after watched “Euro 2012: Stadiums of Hate”.

Chris Rogers showed how football looses its sense from different places into a stadium, and turns in a complete zone of discrimination and wars, which brings the question about security within the next Euro Cup in Poland and Ukraine.

The organizations of Poland and Ukraine have as a target “Zero tolerance of Racism”. But inside their stadiums this rule is broken all the times from hooligans. According to a polish supporter the person who is called Jewish means they have to die. The anti-Semitic movement is very strong in Poland.

Saul Campbell, the former international football player, appears in the program to say his view about this situation, expressing his nonconformity.  At the end states his preference to watch the Euro from home.

While in Ukraine hooligans are shown punching in the stadium Asian followers from the same team, chanting the Hitler’s salute, and being train by an extreme right army group about how they should attack the followers from other teams.

A very sad thing was that the Ukrainian Col. Volodymyr Kovrygin, said that they do not have incidence of racism and Ukrainian fans are so friendly.

Many problematic topics come behind this program. The first one is how one part of the European society is still living with the Hitler’s ghost, his thought against Jewish and Africans. It is very “disgusting” as Saul Campbell said. When we thought that we have overcame many years ago problems like discrimination and racism, in these countries is still alive the feeling of a wrong white culture idea.

The other topic is about the reason of football, how this beautiful sport changes its reason of being, just because some ignorant transform the stadium in a physic and psychological war.

The final topic is about the solutions given by the security in each country. At least Poland is working on it; they accept the discrimination problem and are taking actions to make safer the Cup. While Ukrainian Police does not recognize (maybe does not want) the violence performed into its football sceneries.

FIFA has a big duty on security for this big event, due to it was showed that Poland and Ukraine have a lack of safety during football episodes.  Definitely the Cup will have an improved control from the police, because it represent a big occasion for those countries and for the sport, but do you want to assist to the Euro 2012?

Congratulations Man City!

Manchester City answered today why football is so beautiful. In 2 minutes during the aggregate the Citizens scored twice in moments when pressure and desperation were other players in the match. Queens Park Rangers made a wonderful game, its manager, Mark Hughes, planned a smart strategy that almost achieves the victory from the Etihad Stadium; nevertheless it was his only option due to QPR had been threatened to be relegated.

Man City deserved wins the league; it was the team which played the best football during the season and was at the first position throughout 20 matches. But during the season, the team had been fought against internal problems. At the beginning was the row between Carlos Tevez and its manager Roberto Mancini; also many scandals of Mario Balotelli with alcohol, parties and even inside the pitch, with more than 1 red card. Anyway the Citizens could overcome all these difficulties and made a spectacular performance at the final match.

An inspired Sergio Aguero helped the dream comes true, scoring at the 94th minute over the aggregate after a wonderful assist by Balotelli.

Unfortunately the bad moment of the game came when Joey Barton was sent off because an elbowing on Tevez and then kicking Aguero’s legs. Barton was so uncontrolled and it was a shame because QPR lost defensive power in the midfield. Curiously, QPR scored the goal which sent to a “coma” all the citizen supporters. For sure the bad move from Barton will cost a big suspension and charge.

Meanwhile Manchester United was hopeful to win the league when the match against Sunderland was finished. But Aguero’s goal killed all possibility of celebration and happy faces turned to upset.

Congratulations Man City! You reminded us today that football is so beautiful.

Oh Dania, Dania...

It’s incredible how people in Colombia get famous. Nowadays is the time of Dania Londoño, the prostitute who during the Summit of the Americas was involved in the scandal with the United States secret service.

Until today many rumors have came out through the media. The first one was that the woman was going to sue the American secret service because one of his members who had sex with her didn’t pay the complete fees for a night of “fun”. According to a letter, typed by Dania’s lawyer, says that she didn’t know that the American was a secret agent from the government of USA.

The most ironic and funniest thing for me is that Dania said in a Radio program that hers reputation was completely destroyed.

Later, Abelardo de la Espriella, a lawyer who has been implicated in other awkward situations (as former lawyer of DMG) has become in Dania’s attorney. It’s not the first time that this man gets repudiation from people, but maybe he thinks is doing well earning some money.

This morning was another rumor on the Cartagena newspaper, “El Universal”, two other girls who apparently were invited by Dania for the same night with the agent, have hired a lawyer who said that Dania is working for an Arabic businessman to discredit the American government. Supposedly Dania already knew that she was having a night with an American secret agent. Apparently Dania went this week to Arabia to be protected by the businessman.

This evening another interesting rumor has come out; Dania has been sued by a woman who said that Dania invited her 17 years old daughter to be a prostitute. The girl, who is a student of aesthetics, was told to have sex with one of the agents and she was going to have a reward of $50’000 paid by the Arabic businessman. The girl didn’t accept the proposal, and she said that every day receive a call from an unknown man who threat her always.

I don’t know if is funny or sad how bad our popularity goes down and down. Even when we are host of a big event, we have the duty of being a good host, but unfortunately not just drugs and the internal war are our main problem, now we became so popular because Colombia is targeted as a prostitute paradise destiny, and Dania says that her life is ruined.

I am a Cockroach

I am a beautiful insect but nobody in the world can
understand me. I am a bit dirty, but it is not my fault because
I do not know how to clean up myself; anyway some people
find me very disgusting, it is so unfair.

When I am hungry, I try to take a small piece from your food
without your permission, because if I let you know it, you
would kill me.  Nevertheless, sometimes you catch me on
your dishes and I have to run for my life. My world is so
unfair.

REAL WHO?

I said it last week and I will say it again, Bayern Munich is a ferocious rival and it was not going to let Real Madrid win the semifinal match.

Although the Spaniards started winning the game with Cristiano Ronaldo goals, it was not enough because the Germans controlled most of the game and deserved to be in the UEFA Champions League game final against Chelsea.

The first goal, a doubtful penalty, brought the illusions at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Then Ronaldo scored the second one in possible offside position. Certainly Real Madrid did not deserve to win the game. But Arjen Robben by penalty scored the equalizer for the overall score, extending the game for an extra time and then Penalties.

Manuel Neuer wonderfully saved the penalties taking by Ronaldo and Kaka. The penalties were even until Sergio Ramos kicked the ball so horrible. Bastian Schweinsteiger scored the winning goal and silenced the whole stadium.

Bayern vs Chelsea was the final that nobody has thought, just their supporters. These teams eliminated the biggest teams nowadays, and now the final will have a Bayern Munich playing at home, meanwhile Chelsea, with many suspended and injured players, will try to be not less for the match of the year.

A BAD KID

Fernando “el niño” Torres killed all the Barcelona options to be in the UEFA Champions League final in Munich.

Torres scored the most important goal in his Chelsea career. The Spaniard, who has not had a high level at the club during a year, helped Chelsea to get its second final in 4 years.

All world football was supporting and setting Barcelona at the final game in Munich. But just the blues fans believed in their team.

I said last week, Chelsea was a ferocious rival. Although they were with 10 men on the pitch, due to A stupid John Terry, Chelsea could defend the game properly, and also lucky because of 2 shots on the post by Lio Messi, including a penalty kick.

When the 11 Barcelona men were risking everything during the last minutes, a long clearance, by Ivanovic, was caught by Torres, who ran from the half pitch towards Barcelona’s goal, eluded Valdes and scored a sensational goal.

The sad thing of the game, was Pique’s injury, I hope he can get well soon because had a big trauma in his head when Valdes shocked him. If the goalkeeper were a better keeper, nothing would have happened.

Although Barcelona started winning the game with Busquets and Iniesta goals, Chelsea was so brave after Terry sent off. Ramires gave back the illusion of the final in Munich and Torres made the dream come true.
