It was a difficult moment to decide to go to Luton with the possibility to stay the whole night in the waiting room of the hospital, or wait until the next day with a bigger and more painful abscess on my face.
Without think
a lot about this, of course I decided to go to the Hospital!
I ran a
lot, hoping to find the bus to Luton, and I could see it. It was taking
passengers and the last one was boarding it, so I had to run as my friend “Speedy
Gonzales”, and finally I could get into it.
I expended
almost an hour on the journey, thinking if I could get a bus to come back to
MK, or if I was going to have the night in the waiting room. I didn’t want to
think about it because I was going to get crazy. Of course I ask to the driver for the
timetable of the buses, but he didn’t have, so he told me: “The last bus is
about 5 minutes past 9.”
I arrived
to Luton, and of course, I started to run to the hospital, it took me around
5-10 minutes to get there. Finally I arrived to the Accidents and Emergencies department.
I gave them the medical history which was written by the Doctor in MK. It was
around 8:20 pm, and definitely I was thinking that it was going to take ages to
be assist by a doctor.
But not! 5
minutes later, a British woman called me; she was going to be my maxillofacial
doctor!
She analysed
me and said to me: “I can cut your skin a bit to make the abscess drain, but your
swollen skin is still thick, and it’s the possibility that I would cut you for
nothing.”
I thought: “For
God sake! I came for nothing!”
She said: “I
can give you stronger antibiotics and in 7 days you can go to an appointment in
a medical centre in MK to check if you are better. Or I can try to make a
little incision and you will have a very small scar but it’s up to you.”
I thought: “OK
what the hell, what is the point of the life if you never take risky decisions?”
And I said : “I would like to try with the
incision.”
